The Balcony Tale – Tenderfoot
Lyrics © John Vella 2013

This is a story of two people on a balcony
Who once had a love affair, without any clarity
She sits there, with her pride and her pain
And he sits there telling himself that he’s right yet again

This is a story about cause and effect
About how a love can turn to loveless
About how those memories and photographs no longer mean a thing
But I’m not one of those people who say I’d never change anything

Once upon a time, in a far away land
There were about 3 weeks that might as well have been heaven
Where every little feeling seemed to fall into place
And he would chase that there feeling for the rest of his days

But all the love is gone. Come on, be a man about it.
All the love is gone. Come on, be a man about it.
And all, all the love is gone, still don’t know quite what went wrong.

So as the years moved on the sun’s continued to set
And every now and then they would reconnect.
With part of his heart that he would still call her’s
Until that fateful day when he struck that raw nerve

So they sit there and argue about things unsaid
One wanting to save, one wanting to end
He had affected her, more than he knew
And she hated him for things, she could not undo.

5 years is a long time for these young hearts
That had damaged each other as they tore apart
She can’t admit that he was ever there
And he can’t admit that she loved him less

But all the love is gone. Come on, be a man about it.
And all the love is gone. Come on, be a man about it.
And all, all the love is gone. I still don’t know quite what went wrong,
The love is gone. Come on, be a man about it.

All the love is gone. Come on, be a man about it.
All, all the love is gone. I still don’t know quite what went wrong
I want to apologise for things I once said
Just for the chance to be inside your head

You see I wanted so badly to be the one
It’s only now I can see the damage that I’ve done
A better man would have walked away
A better man would have walked away

Fusing their organic approach with modern influences like Coldplay has resulted in a debut record that has garnered strong early interest.
